On March 11 at 6:30pm, we'll present The Smart Talk, a program in partnership with the National Parent Teacher Association. Join us to learn how you can create technology rules with your student and empower them to make smarter online decisions.

Our leader for this session is Askar Sattar, a technology and cybersecurity professional with over 25 years of experience in the field. Askar's expertise isn't confined to a professional setting – he's also a parent to an RMS student, and will share share firsthand experience on how to empowering youth to use technology while ensuring it's used safely and responsibly.

As part of the event, we will host a special dinner with free RMS Spirit Wear for in-person attendees. And thanks to a National PTA grant, we're offering attendees 18 years and older a chance to win an iPad Mini and Amazon gift cards to help put your new technology rules into practice. The Smart Talk Giveaway Rules:
 

• Open to Parents/Caregivers of Roosevelt Middle School, 18 years and older
• Participants must attend “The Smart Talk” at the March 11 RMS PTSA General Meeting, either in-person OR virtually.
• Registration for the draw will close at 6.30pm on March 11. 
• Late registrations will not be considered for the giveaway.
• Winners will be selected in a random draw at the end of “The Smart Talk” on March 11.
• If the person who is selected is not present at the time of the draw, the entry will be disqualified and a different name will be drawn.

The RMS PTSA thanks our amazing community for another successful Annual Fund Drive! Not only did we hit our goal, we exceeded it, with a grand total of $120,000. These funds will go towards facilities improvement projects, teacher stipends, and classroom wishlists. As we get ready for Winter Break, we’re sharing an update on the Annual Fund Drive.

• We’ve raised $76,000 of our $110,000 goal = 69% of the way there!
• Almost 90 families have contributed = 20% participation!

We would love to say we achieved 100% participation from all families this year.  As we've mentioned before, no donation is too small and every little bit helps us get to our annual goal. If you haven't had a chance to donate, now is the time as we are hoping to reach $110,000 before the end of 2023.

RMS students, staff, and families thank you!

It's that time of year...the Annual Fund Drive!  Similar to years past, the RMS PTSA is asking the community to give what it can in support of this wonderful school, the staff, and our students. 

Our goal is to raise $110,000 before the end of December.  This is our only fundraiser of the year, and how we generate 90% of funds that support programs and services our students, teachers, and staff rely on. This includes:

• School beautification (yard upgrades, hallway murals, auditorium improvements)
• Lunchtime clubs (teacher honorariums, club supplies)
• Teacher classroom stipends
• Teacher appreciation events
• Eighth grade graduation activities
• Field trips
• Community-building events
• PTSA meetings
• ...and much more
