Volunteer Hours

As a PTSA, we are required to report our volunteer hours to the district office annually. Any kind of PTSA volunteer participation counts: attending meetings, helping one of the committees, etc.

Volunteer hours are collected and reported to maintain our PTSA’s federal tax exemption status. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, the PTSA must receive 1/3 of its support from the general public. Recorded volunteer hours are proof of this. They are also used in advocating on behalf of children and as information in grant writing.
