We are looking for 3-4 individuals to serve on our Nominating Committee for the RMS PTSA. The committee's goal is to identify people in the RMS community who are interested in serving on the PTSA Executive Board for the 2023-24 academic year.

🗓️ Sign-Me-Up (SMU) Coordinator

The PTSA is in need of a Sign Me Up Coordinator. This person will lead our ongoing Sign Me Up (SMU) community building/fundraising events.
We are looking for a volunteer to spearhead these pay-to-participate events, coordinate with hosts and help publicize them during the spring semester. This position involves a minimal amount of work, and can be done from home!

- Pulling blurbs from the weekly newsletter and cross-posting to our Facebook Group.
- Periodic website updates at rmssf.org

🎓 8th Grade Graduation Committee

Currently Seeking: Chair and Committee Members for each of 3 events: picnic, dinner/dance, and promotion.
- Positions begin March/April 2023
- Each Event Committee will work with 8th grade counselor to plan, organize and execute the event.
- Events take place in May, and planning begins as early as March.

💰 Annual Fund Drive Committee

- Position active between September - January 2023
- This is our most important, largest, most significant fundraising event of the year!
- Main duties include working with VP of Comms to promote/advertise, communicating with the RMS community via online and paper channels, and finding creative ways to alert our community of the fundraiser.
- Duties include budgeting, planning and executing the annual fund campaign, which raises money to bridge the gap between federal and state funds provided to our school and the cost of the resources and programs we offer.

🎈 Carnival Committee

- The PTSA had many requests this year from students to bring this event back. The Carnival is ready to be reimagined! RMS used to have a Carnival, but hasn’t had one in many years. Which means this committee has a chance to redesign the whole event!
- Note this event will not happen without volunteers.
- The committee may work with teachers/RMS staff, local vendors, volunteers and more to provide a fun family event for our community.

🤝 Family Engagement Committee

- The PTSA wants to identify new ways to engage our community, to find out what our community wants from the PTSA, and how we can support our community. This committee is new, so more specific duties are yet to be determined and can be created by the committee in conjunction with the Board. This may include creating surveys, reaching out to specific RMS populations, working with staff or Beacon, attending events, etc.
📚 Family Lending Library

- 1-2 volunteers for the entire school year
- Work with Ms. Cloues, RMS Librarian, to manage book donations for the FLL.
- Could also include soliciting new book donations from the community.
🤗 Membership Chair

- Uses the TOTEM platform to encourage, increase and manage PTSA members.
🏫 School Beautification Committee

- Work with Beautification Day Organizer and teachers to identify projects, procure necessary supplies and recruit volunteers.
- Ideally available on the day of the event (one in fall, one in spring) to help lead projects and/or organize volunteers, as needed.
🗣️ Speaker Committee

- The Speaker Committee plays an important role in making our PTSA meetings more dynamic and interesting for the RMS community. Are there topics you'd like the PTSA to address? Do you know of people that can offer valuable perspectives? This may be the low effort role for you!
- The goal of the committee is to offer and increase family educational opportunities by bringing forth voices that need to be heard.
- Committee members help identify potential speakers who can join us for either an in-person or Zoom PTSA meeting.
- Speakers can be local or from anywhere in the world.
- Guest speakers are also extended space on our PTSA blog and may be featured on RMS News.

👕 Spirit Wear Coordinator

- Will shadow the outgoing coordinator and take over duties for the upcoming school year.
- Orders branded merchandise (shirts, hoodies, hats etc.) and manages inventory.
- Manages sales table at school events.
- Processes online orders (delivers orders to school office for customer pickup).
⚾ Sports Team Parent Liaison

Currently seeking: 1 person per sports team (girls softball and boys baseball)
- Will work with the coach(es) to support communication regarding practices, games, or other information from the coach(es)
💙 Teacher Appreciation Committee

- Arranges an appreciation event approximately 1x / month. Monthly events usually include a breakfast or lunch spread.
- PTSA will help with advertising.
- Committee works together to make or buy food for teachers, sometimes working with a local restaurant for a catered meal.

- Rally the RMS community to help with different projects throughout the school year.
- Connect with feeder school PTA's for volunteer opportunities for RMS students.

- This is a PTSA executive board position.
- Works alone, or with Parent Engagement Committee, to determine what our community wants from the PTSA.
- Works to ensure all parents/caregivers at RMS feel welcomed and heard.
- May work with Beacon staff and/or RMS-lead parent advisory committees.
- Works to reach broad RMS community so more voices can be heard.
