Pick-up and Drop-off Etiquette

Click here tWith over 700 students, before and after school traffic around the school can become a big problem. Luckily, through trial and error we've discovered the best practices to avoid serious congestion (and cranky neighbors). Please take a moment to review the following guidelines to get your students to and from campus as quickly and safe as possible.

• For students being picked up by car, it's best to find them at 4:10 in the White Zone on Palm.
• Using a single lane line, approach the Palm Ave Gate by traveling South on Palm Ave toward Geary Blvd.
• Please be courteous of heavy traffic times and avoid U-turns on Palm Ave.
• Please pull up as far as possible while in the White Zone.
• No parking or waiting in the White Zone before the final bell rings (see details below).
  
• If you need to enter the school for any reason, please find a legal parking spot.
• Never double-park or leave your vehicle unattended.
• Never park in or block neighbors’ driveways or block the crosswalks, even temporarily.
• If you do find a legal parking space on the east side of Palm Ave, students and parents must use the crosswalks at Euclid Ave or Geary Blvd.
• For everyone's safety, please NO jay walking.

WHY is it so important not to park and wait in the white zone?

When cars arrive before the final bell and begin to line up in the white zone, traffic backs up to the corner of Arguello and Euclid, and causes issues at the 4 way stop at Euclid and Palm.

In an effort to keep traffic flowing and on behalf of the neighborhood community, we kindly ask that if you don’t see your child when you are in the white zone, please circle the block and come back to get them rather than holding up the line.
